Olde Mill House is just two blocks from Renwick Village which has a supermarket, dairy, service station, chemist, taverns, butcher/bakery and café.
A number of Cellar Doors on our recommended cycle route offer superb lunches, including Wairau River, The Vines Village Cafe (including Whitehaven Wines and The Gin Room), Nautilus Estate, No 1 Family Estate, Forrest, Framingham, Bladen, Gibson Bridge, Jackson Estate, Huia, Hans Herzog, Allan Scott, Cloudy Bay, Hunters, St Clair and Rock Ferry.
Evening dining options – an easy walk from the B & B is an excellent Fish & Chippie, the Woodbourne Tavern, Phoenix Cafe-Bar, and the popular Cork & Keg English Pub.
Fine dining options – 5 plus minutes drive from the B & B are Arbour, Hans Herzog , the Vintners Room and Harvest Restaurant at the Marlborough Lodge.
We are only fifteen minutes from Blenheim, the nearest major town, approximately 30 minutes from Picton the gateway to the beautiful Marlborough Sounds or 30 minutes from Havelock, the Green Shell Mussel Capital of New Zealand.
There are numerous options for you to enjoy a day in the Sounds, either departing from Picton or Havelock. Join the postie on his mail run into the outer reaches of the Sounds, or visit and sample at a mussel or salmon farm.
It seldom rains in this little spot of paradise, but a great wet day activity is a visit to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, home to Sir Peter Jacksons WW1 Knights of the Sky and WW2 Dangerous Skies exhibitions.
